Baz Luhrman‘s stunning new epic drama The Great Gatsby based on the iconic book opened way above expectations this weekend with $51 million. That was a huge number for a historical film that is geared towards women but the appeal of Leonardo DiCaprio and Luhrman’s artistry clearly pulled in a lot of fans.
