This year, it looks like the MTV Movie Awards are looking to class up the joint a bit as they nominated several Oscar winners and nominees among their top choices for this year’s ceremony. Django Unchained,which won two Oscars, grabbed 7 nominations including Best Movie where it goes up against Oscar nominee Silver Linings Playbook plus The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and Ted. The later film, a some-what lowbrow stoner comedy, is also up for 7 awards right in line with MTV’s usual choices… The other big contender is Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence who is up for 5, yes 5, awards including Best Female Performance against fellow Oscar winner Anne Hathaway.
